Fleece jackets
Fleece is worn in the ECWCS clothing system on top of thermal underwear 1 and 2 layers, both the middle layer (level), and separately from them.
Fleece is a synthetic woven material made of polyethylene terephthalate fiber for the manufacture of warm clothing. Invented in 1979 by Malden Mills (the original designer and manufacturer of Polartec fleece - Polartec Polar Fleece) as an alternative to wool. Fleece is superior to wool in many ways: low specific gravity, excellent breathing properties, elasticity, dries quickly, good thermal insulation properties, mechanical strength and wear resistance, is not subject to biological destruction, does not require special care, but is highly inflammable.
Care: Machine wash (mode: gentle wash for synthetic fabrics), turned inside out in warm water with a mild detergent. Do not use softeners. Do not dry clean. Do not iron. Dry flattened.
