These knives are made by Tsutomu Kajiwara, a renowned knife maker from the Tosa region, a small but significant cutlery center in Japan. Its knives are renowned for their quality materials and craftsmanship, as well as their robust, massive construction.
Mr. Kajiwara's Damascus knives are workhorse blades and are somewhat rustic, yet have excellent craftsmanship and gorgeous patterns. It is safe to say that they are some of the best hand-forged traditional Japanese cutlery on the market.
This item is handmade by a Japanese craftsman, with which you can feel the human warmth. They are quite different from machine made ones. We do not recommend it for those who do not like a small slash or slight curve of the blade.
It is a knife blacksmith made by traditional style. Aogami No2 steel is a superlative steel for professional knives. However,it gets rust easily so it needs maintenance . Attention : The blade is attached by hammering to the wooden handle. At that time, as Nakago of blade is heated quite high, there could be small cracks at the top of the handle. No problem for use, but we do not recommend this for those who do not like those cracks, Wa- Handles are easily replaced so that we can keep using fine blades for a long time.
