This is the Shohonyama Ohira Asagi 30' Size from Kyoto, Clean and quite hard, good for pre-finishing to finishing razors & carpentry tools. High density & quite hard, water absorption is slow. Better going with Nagura.

It is from direct from Ohira mine where has been mining five generations of Ohira whetstones. Ohira mine produces Awasedo (fine finishing whetstone), Suita, and Uchigumori. Ohira is very famous whetstone as Japanese sword sharpening hone as Uhigumori.
