Application and use of the product: -

This flame retardant flight jacket is identical to the CWU 36/P jacket, but has a lining for insulation, intended exclusively for Air Force pilots, military crew members, Army and Navy, flying aviators, Marines and Navy, medical flight personnel, firefighters / rescuers, airfield support personnel, and helicopter pilots

Military flight jackets were designed to protect the pilot from harsh weather conditions in an open cockpit. Later, the military was faced with the problem of early melting of bombers in the event of a fire in the cockpit. To solve this problem, the CWU (summer version of the uniform) was designed to be heat resistant. This jacket was originally manufactured in 1972 to replace the MA-1 jacket. The military continues to issue these jackets today.
