The CoS variation is special because her blade is made of Lam.CoS steel. Lam.CoS is one of the recent developments of the company. CoS steel is the core of the blade, made according to the famous Japanese San Mai III method, in which premium steel of high hardness is laminated on both sides with a softer steel, in this case - 420J2 steel. 420J2 - Japanese low carbon stainless steel; mild stainless steel of grade 420, improved by Japanese metallurgists. It is quite strong and very resistant to corrosion. CoS steel is an extremely tough carbon steel that was originally conceived not as a knife steel but as a tool steel. This steel has a slightly higher hardness (60 HRC) compared to its predecessor, Lam. VG-10 (59 HRC) and is distinguished by a high content of cobalt, which is responsible for high-temperature strength and improved mechanical properties: from alloys with the use of cobalt, they create a processing tool (drills, cutters, etc.). Another interesting alloying element in CoS steel is tungsten. The tungsten content in steel gives it significant hardness and noticeably increases the melting point. It is used for springs, shells, safes, for cutting tools, and with an additive of molybdenum, such steel is called "self hardening steel".

The F1 size rivals any mid-sized folding knife. The F1 weight is also consistent with the usual EDC norm. However, with a medium size, the F1 has a full-size handle, an almost ten centimeter blade with an impressive butt thickness. And most importantly - the massive knife shank runs through the entire handle. At the end of the handle of each knife there is a hole for a lanyard with a diameter of 5 mm, which allows you to thread even a rather thick cord. In the version with a handle made of Thermorun rubber, the shank also protrudes from the handle by a few millimeters, which allows you to strike at the end of the knife without fear of damaging the rubber coating. The thermorun rubber itself, according to information from the manufacturer, was specially created for use in the difficult conditions of the north and withstands large temperature drops. From which it follows that F1 can be safely operated in any climatic and natural conditions.

Blades for F1 are made in the famous Japanese knife center - Seki (Japan). A special feature is that the blades for Fällkniven AB are made at a factory owned by the Hattori family - Japanese gunsmiths and blacksmiths who have won recognition in the world of knives since the Middle Ages.

In addition to materials, it will not be superfluous to pay attention to the structure of the blade and the shape of its cutting edge (RK). Lenticular sharpening (LZ) significantly differs from the traditional factory sharpening of almost all serial knives produced today. The blades of the absolute majority of serial knives have pronounced slopes of various shapes and their RK is displayed in the shape of the letter "V". LZ differs in the geometry of the blade and in its shape ensures the achievement of high cutting efficiency, at the same time guaranteeing a large margin of safety for the RK. By the way, it is worth noting that the best Japanese katanas have a similar cross-sectional shape, because when cutting, the blade with LZ meets the least material resistance compared to knitting wedge-shaped and concave sharpenings. Also, the presence of LZ increases the efficiency of working with hard materials (large bones when cutting game, when working on wood, etc.).
