The cover of the receiver with a Viver strap for mounting collimator and optical sights on AK / AKM / AK-74 / AK-10x (Fort 201-206, Volcano-T, Saiga, AKMS-OP) is the second generation.

The upgraded cover allows you to leave the native mechanical devices.

The most important fact in favor of this cover is that, unlike the cast Chinese "analogues", it does not play and with a large shot it does not shift STP.

The main advantages of this product are ergonomics, durability and low weight. The weight of the lid is 120 grams, given that the standard lid weighs 80 grams, this design will weight the carbine by only 40 grams !!! The Picatinny rail, placed directly on the lid and being a monolithic whole with it, allows you to solve the main problem of AK-based carbines - the installation of collimator or optical sights at a comfortable distance from the eye.

The lid is entirely milled from a single piece of aviation aluminum alloy D16T, which ensures manufacturing accuracy, strength and low weight of the product. Installing the cover is carried out at the place of attachment of the standard rear sight with the ability to adjust the length for maximum tight fixation on the receiver.

The design has a very original solution to the problem of backlash and the speed of access to the slide frame and trigger for eliminating delays in firing and cleaning the carbine. On the sides, the lid overlaps the receiver, while the right side of the lid works similarly to a leaf spring, ensuring reliable fixation of the lid to the receiver in the closed state. Also included is a modified wedge-shaped latch lock button. As a result, squeezing the return spring due to the wedge-shaped form, such a button “selects” the backlash in the groove of the latch latch, which ensures the complete absence of backlash and guarantees a return to “zero” when the lid is opened / closed. At the same time, a special tool is not required to remove the cover; just squeeze the lock and open the cover.

Please note, which fixes the latch to the receiver cover must be installed on the anaerobic latch threaded connections (Loctite, DoneDeal) that can be bought at any car shop. This rule applies not only to the cover, but also in general to all threaded connections used on mechanisms subject to vibration (kickback) to prevent their self-loosening.

When installing the cover, it is strongly recommended that you leave the spring retaining the rear sight. The spring does not affect the operation of the structure (all the backlashes are squeezed out by the wedge-shaped button of the cover lock), however, it significantly increases the convenience when cleaning the carbine, reliably fixing the cover in the tilted state.

The use of a wedge-shaped latch-lock included with the lid is mandatory, the standard latch of the receiver cover will not ensure the elimination of landing backlashes and the design will not work properly.
