Masamotoyama Higashi Okudono Tomae (東奥殿戸前) is a very fine ("razor hone") Okudono stone from the Umegahata area. Sold by Nakakatsu. Yamamoto stamp - the presence of the Yamamoto stamp is especially valuable. It confirms the hand-selected stone by the Yamamoto family, historically associated with the development of the Umegahata mines.

About the stone -
Rich olive-green color; virtually no suita pores; fine yellowish lines do not pierce when sharpening; very dense, uniform surface.
The Higashi Okudono layer is generally considered slightly denser and thinner than regular Okudono Tomae.
Very fine grain; quickly produces a clean suspension with tomo-nagura.
A thickness of 6 mm does not indicate wear. These are special laser stones (razor hones). These stones were often glued to a wooden base; they were used exclusively for honing kamisori; sometimes they were sold in this thickness. This is a perfectly normal size for razors.
