PCU - Protective Combat Uniform for Special Forces. When designing the 6th layer waterproof layer of the third generation of Patagonia PCU, the task was to create the most lightweight and compact clothing. Designed to be worn over base in wet conditions all year round. Lightweight 2-Piece Gore-Tex ® PacLite fabric is lighter, more compact and breathable than 3-layer Gore-Tex Classic. Due to the Gore-Tex membrane, it breathes, while not letting in moisture and protecting from the wind. The smooth inner surface reduces friction, allowing the inner layers of clothing to glide. This gives additional freedom of movement and ease when putting on and taking off clothes. Pants have slotted flaps for access to base layer pockets. Zipper with flaps from the foot to the knee for quick dressing of the base layer without taking off the shoes.
There are attachment points for suspenders and elastic inserts at the waist and ankle.
Excellent protection from strong cold wind and rain.
